Freundestadt, 27. Oktober 2010, Robert Bürkle GmbH ranks among the 1000 world market leaders of Germany. This is what the Manager Magazine published in their latest edition (issue 10/2010). The line manufacturers from the Black Forest are on place 733 among the German world market leaders with the highest turnover. As per the renowned economy magazine, the listed companies are counted among the three dominating powers of the world market – at least for individual products. The ranking was issued by the management consultant Bernd Venohr.
Hans-Joachim Bender, managing partner of Robert Bürkle GmbH, is pleasantly surprised by the result. “We know that we are well-established in the wood and photovoltaic sector, this ranking is the official proof now”. After Bürkle had to face a drastic decrease in turnover last year, the experts for presses and lamination lines focus on a turnover target of 85 million Euros for 2010. The business units photovoltaics and surfaces, followed by plastic cards and multilayers, contribute hereto most.
Bürkle belongs to the winners of the solar sector. Although this young market was entered 4 years ago, Bürkle already harvests 30 per cent in the photovoltaic sector. The customers are well-known in this business sector: Bosch, Scheuten-Solar and Day4Energy. Since this year, the Swabian line manufacturers have gained first results in other markets. The company achieved to supply machines with a new technology to the automotive and glass industry. No later than in 2012, Bürkle will regain the record sales from the year 2008: 115 million Euros.
Background: A total turnover of 1,7 trillion Euros was gained by the 1000 listed companies. All in all, 7 million people work for these companies. Around 90 per cent of the so-called world market leaders belong to the manufacturing industry. Baden-Württemberg is the leader of the state ranking followed by North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria. VW is number one, followed by Allianz and Eon AG.
