Kleinostheim, 03. November 2010, PV5 Solarconcept GmbH, the leading specialized wholesale trader for photovoltaic systems in the Rhine-Main-Area is - since beginning of October 2010 - member of the European Alliance PV CYCLE Association. With joining the alliance, the specialized wholesale trader commits to take back photovoltaic moduls voluntarily and without any charges.
The alliance PV CYCLE was founded in Brussels in 2007 with the intention to initialize a voluntary and Europe-wide recycling- and redemption program for photovoltaic moduls in the photovoltaic industry. Until 2015 there should be an area-wide network of collection points for photovoltaic moduls. PV5 is operating since it’s joining the alliance, as collection point for photovoltaic moduls, which have reached the end of their life time cycle. So far the alliance unifies much more than 100 members, who represent together more than 85 per cent of the photovoltaic market all over Europe. Members of PV CYCLE assume full responsibility for the complete value added chain of their products.
Preparing and recycling of photovoltaic moduls
Photovoltaic moduls contain valuable materials, which can be used again after a recycling and preparation process. The re-use of materials like aluminum, glass and silicon have a share in a positive environmental balance and reduce the CO2-emissions effectively. At the same time recycling of photovoltaic moduls is reducing the essential demand for energy, regarding production of raw materials and the there for out coming costs. In this way PV5 Solarconcept takes responsibility for the photovoltaic moduls they distributed and expands considerably its commitment regarding environment protection as well as climate protection.
Positive impulse for the Rhine-Main-Area
Beside long-time contractual partners and suppliers of PV5, especially the District Office Aschaffenburg is very delighted about the joining because prospectively there will be an uncomplicated form of proper disposal for photovoltaic moduls for every citizen, directly in their area. PV5 therewith sets a positive impulse for the environment as well as for the economy in this area.

There for it has been a logical step to act as PV CYCLE Collection Point, to allow not only our customers an uncomplicated and charge less disposal of photovoltaic moduls, but also for all citizens. The alliance leads to a high safeness and advantages because in 20 years we will still be acting in the photovoltaic market. With our alliance we would like to give our active voice for sustainable development in the photovoltaic market and would like to assure an environmentally compatible recovered substance cycle for photovoltaic components. In this way we organize the electricity generation in future even more eco-friendly", underlines Klaus Syndikus (managing director).
Redemption and Recycling is request for a KfW-credit
PV5, as member of PV CYCLE fulfills the requests of the credit association for reconstruction (KfW). There is a requirement that from 01. October 2010 on, redemption and recycling of photovoltaic moduls have to be granted by the respective manufacturers, in case of an advancement (of a photovoltaic system) by KfW. The suppliers of PV5 GmbH also fulfill the strict requirements of KfW through their own membership in PV CYCLE alliance, so professional and environmentally friendly redemption as well as disposal can be assured.
